Dear Parishioners,
 
I write today to let you know as quickly as I can to inform you of some significant changes that will be happening in our parish soon.
 
As many of you are aware, St. Peter’s Boys High School is owned and operated by our parish.  The Brothers’ residence of the high school is in desprate need of major repairs including a new roof, windows, boilers, porch, and repairs made to some of the brickwork and paved walkways.  While some of the work may have to be postponed until after the winter, it is essential that some of it is completed before the cold and wet weather sets in.
 
In light of the fact that our parish owes over $11 million dollars to the Archdiocese of New York for loans that have supported us in the past, it is now the time for us to sell some of our property in order to meet some of our other obligations.
 
Toward that end we will be putting up for sale the parking lot that is across the street from St. Peter – St. Paul School on Clinton Avenue.  Because the need for parking will continue at that school, we will be razing the building located at 145 Clinton Avenue and turning that property into a parking lot.  This will also provide the aditional benefits of safety and convenience, especially for small children and Senior Citizens, as well as defrey our maintenance and insurance bills.
 
It is reasonable to hope that the sale of this property will not only cover the expenses we are taking on but will also provide us with some of the money we need to maintain our other properties and meet some of our other obligations.
 
These projects, and others to be identified in the near future, are part of the overall Renew and Rebuild campaign that has been rolling out in various parts of the Archdiocese. In the coming months, an Archdiocesan campaign manager will be assigned to us to begin the process here in our Parish.
 
Decisions such as these are never easily made.  Please continue to pray that as we continue to strive to serve each other to the best of our ability, the grace of God will give us the strength and wisdom to do whatever God asks of us.

Queridos feligreses,
 
Escribo hoy para informarles lo más rápido posible acerca de algunos cambios importantes que estarán ocurriendo pronto en nuestra parroquia.
 
Como muchos de ustedes saben, St. Peter's Boys High School es propiedad y está operado por nuestra parroquia. La residencia de los Hermanos de la escuela secundaria está en gran medida necesitada de reparaciones mayores, que incluyen un nuevo techo, ventanas, calderas, porche, algunos de los muros de ladrillo y las aceras pavimentadas. Estos proyectos, y otros que se identificarán en el futuro cercano, son parte de la campaña general de Renovación y Reconstrucción que se ha estado desplegando en varias partes de la Arquidiócesis. En los próximos meses, se nos asignará un administrador de campaña de la Arquidiócesis para comenzar el proceso aquí en nuestra Parroquia.
 
Decisiones como estas nunca se hacen fácilmente. Por favor, continúen orando para que a medida que continuemos esforzándonos para servirnos lo mejor que podamos, la gracia de Dios nos dé la fuerza y ​​la sabiduría para hacer lo que Dios nos pida.
